Dead Rising By Kilo Victor Sierra By KiloVictorSierra on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
For a launch title, or close to it, Dead Rising is an amazing game. It suprises me that we haven't seen more games of the "survive against zombies" genre, but hopefully, the success of Dead Rising will change that. First off, the game is gorgeous. The character designs fluctuate between cartoony and kind of anime-ish, but it hardly matters when there are upwards of two hundred zombies clustering the screen. The gameplay is simple and slightly repetitive, but the vast variety of weapons keeps things from becoming too stale. The only part I severely dislike about the gameplay is the survivor AI--it's pretty stupid, and a glaringly imperfect blemish on an otherwise stellar game. Replay value is high, and the lack of multiplayer doesn't hurt the game at all. Overall, it's a great purchase if you can find it for 30 dollars or less, but I wouldn't pay more than fifty for it.
