Death By Robert Wilkins By halcamdad on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Death: A History of Man's Obsessions and Fears by Robert Wilkins is an amazing book if you're morbidly curious. This book is filled with many twisted anecdotes and some spectacular (and disturbing) photos. Covered are the histories of live burial, body snatching, the embalming process and more. The story of the Jom Jones mass suicide is also included. The section on mummification was particulary good with desciptions dating from the Egyptians up to and including methodologies for body preservation that are employed in our present day world. Again, the illustrations are spectacular. If you have a weak constitution, you should probably avoid this book. However, if you're morbidly curious like me, you should thoroughly enjoy this bizarre book.
