Dell 1710 N Laser Printer Network Ready By dohdeelicious on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Purchased this monochrome printer for my office. It is one of 2 networked printers on our LAN. The other printer is an HP LaserJet. I am very happy with the print resolution, speed, ability to add a second paper tray, and set-up. We have had this printer for 2 years. We do not maximize its printing capabilities by any stretch of the imagination. Other than the original cartridge and drum, we have used office-supply store cartridges in it to lower my operating costs. Until the other day, we had no problems with it at all. Dell Tech Support was not at all helpful. Turns out, the drum needs to be replaced so back I go to Dell for the cartridge and drum. I'd much rather purchase my printer supplies from a less expensive source than Dell.

I understand Dell printers are Lexmark guts with Dell skins.

While I am very happy with the printer, I will not purchase another Dell printer. For my money, I'm sticking with HP for our next printer.

Although this is working for you now, I totally understand when you say that you wouldn't purchase from them again because of the customer service & the price for parts...I'm a stickler for good customer service!

I'm picky when evaluating products and services. Some say "detail-oriented" and others say "a bit of a perfectionist"; either way,......
