Reviewing: Dell Axim
Purchased at: Dell     Price: $249.00 USD

I bought the Dell Axim X5 400MHz hand held PDA from dell in 2001.I use this product daily. This is a very nice item for the time that I made the purchase. The screen clarity is high and backlight is not limited at all.I use this to sync with my desktop PC at work.I keep all my contacts, tasks, and emails updated on both my PC & my PDA.This is very helpful to have your information in both places. The PDA is Microsoft based so it has the Pocket versions of Excel, Word, and Outlook. You can compose email messages, reply to them or delete them and it will all be updated when you sync.If you're setup for a wireless connection, you can do that real time.I don't have this feature.

Having this product for 7 years now, the only problem I've experienced is an error message constantly that my backup battery needs replacing. This message box can be cancelled out but every time I turn my PDA on, I get this message.Regardless of the battery age I can't get rid of this message.I've researched online and can't find a fix. This is very annoying especially if you use it as often as I do.

Considering the time I've had this item, I give it two thumbs up!

This sounds like a great little PDA. I know my Dad carries one and he seems to get quite a bit of use out of it so I know it's a great tool for people that need it. :o) And for yours to still be going strong, despite the error message, after 7 years is great!

Wow, sounds good except for the error message. We are big fans of Dell too.

I thought we were the only people that still used old PDAs. The capability to sync with the desktop is critical!

That it has worked for you for seven years is incredible in this day and age where new technology makes dinosaurs out of yesterday's technology. It sounds like you got your money's worth!
