Dell Inspiron 1501 By Seraph on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

A wonderfully versatile laptop for anybody! I purchased mine at Wal-mart on Black Friday and it has not missed a step since. I am a small business owner, and as such, my laptop gets pushed to its limit pretty much every day. I must say, even with all the programs I run simultaneously, it never loses its speed.

The Inspiron laptop comes with 2 GB RAM, a 60 GB hard drive, and 1.8 GHz. Equipped with AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core processors, this laptop doesn't flinch when I run Photoshop, Dreamweaver, and several instant messaging programs as I consult with my clients.

Compared with most other laptops, this one sails past the competition in portability. It's lightweight, outfitted with a wireless network adapter, and quite compact. The only thing missing that I wish it had would be the same system Apple gives their laptops. (Each Macbook has a tilt sensor. There are programs that use it, so if a laptop is moved after being locked, it will set off an alarm.)

I do have to recommend that you definitely buy a “lappie” - a lap protection thing that separates the laptop's heat bents from your own legs. This lapop does tend to heat up quite quickly, which can get uncomfortable on your legs.
