Dell Inspiron E1505 By Rob Atticus By RobAtticus on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

The Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop is one of Dell's best-selling and highly used laptops. It's marketed for students, on-the-go businessmen, and for those who just want a personal computer for the road.

My overall experience with this laptop has been lukewarm, however. After owning it for only a year, things started going wrong. The laptop screen had trouble flipping open and closed. While it wasn't falling off or anything, the one side is broken and makes the screen flimsy. Also, a pink vertical line has now appeared on the left side of the screen. It's about a pixel wide, so it's not overly intrusive, but it's frustratin. Finally, one of the keys has popped off from use, which does not seem like it should happen with a laptop that is built to last.

Besides those flaws, the laptop is very useful. It's Dual Core processor works wonders, and it has a solid amount of space for doing work on. Even with its problems, Dell still offers warranties that cover all the problems I've mentioned (but unfortunately not the battery).

Overall, it's a good laptop for the price tag it has. The screen is plenty wide for watching movies and for multitasking on school or work projects. Definitely a good buy, but make sure you get a warranty.
