This is a pretty good machine. This is my family laptop. It has been used for anything and everything. Music, games, graphics, you name it. It's fast and has 2-3 hours battery life. This is 1.6Ghz with 60GB Intel Pentium, Windows XP Professional. I've used it to watch movies but not a lot of games with crazy graphics. I do a lot of school work and photo editing. I always have a bunch of chat programs and browsers open and it's never a problem. The keyboard is pretty sturdy, it's been dropped a million times and still works (NOT BY ME) It has volume buttons and mute button near top of keyboard next to power button. I use the built in mouse and it works great. The speaker quality is good and not scratchy and it's really loud. Screen brightness is good or can be set to low if your eyes hurt like mine. It's slightly heavy if that's the word you want to use but nothing crazy. Definitely do your homework and you can be confident this is a good machine with the proper specs cited. Happy hunting.
