Dell Photo All In One Printer 962 By Rebecca Mcglynn on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Before I owned a Dell printer, I owned a HP and I was very pleased. I had no idea that not all printers were as easy to use an HP. I thought that since Dell is a big name, it would be easy to find printer part and cartridges, if need be. But, it is very difficult to buy cartridges for the Dell printer.

It is a very attractive printer, but slightly on the “flimsy” side. Set-up was very easy. And the quality of the print outs are okay. But, beware if you run out of ink. The ink cartridges are VERY expensive and can often run up to $45 per cartridge if you buy it directly from Dell. What's more, the sensor will often indicate that the cartridge is out of ink when it isn't.

I really get the impression that the Dell printer is some elaborate hoax to squeeze money from customers by getting them to purchase ink cartridges unnecessarily.

Fortunately, the fax, scan and the copy features seem to work okay. But, if I had to do it over again, I certainly would not purchase another Dell 962.
