Dell simple and weak speakers
By jb_shops onI was looking for simple and sleek -- I got simple and weak. These are lightweight two-piece black USB powered stereo speakers. The USB simply does not amplify the volume enough - 1.2W.There is a volume knob on the front that is easy to access, but it is pointless as I always have it all the way up.
I would recommend these for someone that wants a cheap lightweight speakers that are semi-portable to connect to a laptop.I would warn anyone that wants to use these to watch movies or music from a permanent location.ESPECIALLY if there is any background noise.
Pros: Easy to set-up, cost, portable, nice size & shape
Cons: Sound quality, very poor bass range and limited amplification
I am planning to purchase the Dell Speakers that mount under monitors.

Too bad these weren't what you needed. I got my speakers for my laptop for $10 at Walmart. They are so loud we have to turn down the volume when we have them hooked up.
Thanks for sharing those poor sound qualities.
They sure look nice. Too bad that's not what counts.
I hope that the new Dell speakers you plan on getting work out better for you. That's really too bad about this set of speakers.
What a shame they weren't what you thought they would be. Usually Dell is a good name to go by.
Sorry these speakers didn't work out for you.
I never use the "come with" speakers. I got lucky that I received Boston Acoustics speakers and they were awesome:) I hate it when company;s offering computer packages always seem to cut corners on these things.
So would two tin cans and some wire do a better job?
I've heard this about Dell's standard speakers. I suppose they are not as sufficient as they should be, but Dell just gives you middle-of-the-road stuff for the full package when you buy their computers.
