DeLonghi DCM485 10-Cup Coffee Maker

When Starbucks recalled the 8 cup Aroma Grande, we were told the 12 Cup was included by our local Starbucks. Anticipating a simple replacement of my beloved 12 cup Aroma Grande, I was instead offered this DeLonghi. From the very beginning the difference in both quality, design and ease of use were apparent.

The snap lid attachment broke within 48 hours rendering the pot unusable. The coffee was not hot enough, and the flavor of the brewed coffee was atrocious. This in spite of the fact DeLonghi offers a wand like filter that stays inserted in the water well.

I called Starbucks Corporate who had me go get another one, while they searched for a replacement 12 Cup. We brought the second Delonghi home, and this time the snap lid attachment broke in less than 24 hours and then leaked everywhere. The water well had to be filled by using a measuring cup to avoid spillage all over the counter.

After sending me a $35.00 Starbucks card, they had me bring the machine back for another brand.

Bottom line for a pot priced at well over $120.00 it is not worth it. After buying several replacement pots, I found when I finally got my Barista back, there is just no comparison.

If you want bitter coffee served lukewarm, with difficult to use parts, then by all means buy the DeLonghi.
