Dermacea sterile gauze wrap
By Karen onMy husband's recent bout with a severe toe infection and subsequent amputation gave me quite a lesson on wound care. Before his toe was amputated, he had a visiting nurse come to the house daily to dress his wound.
I noticed some of the products that she used, one of which was Dermacea gauze wrap in a 6 ply fluff roll. After cleaning and dressing the wound, the nurse would wrap my husband's entire foot with this gauze, and it did a great job of covering and protecting his wound and foot.Unfortunately, the infection had traveled into the bone of the toe, resulting in its subsequent amputation. But this gauze wrap was a great way to cover the entire area and keep it sterile.
The roll that the nurse used was 4.5 in x 4.1 yard, and one roll was sufficient to wrap his entire foot and ankle so that the dressing and gauze would be secure and not come off in bed during the night.
I thought this gauze was pretty neat, and I was impressed with how soft and comfortable it was on my husband's skin.A good product for wound care.
