If you have severe GERD like I do, you will also find relief taking this pill. It really calms the stomach acid almost immediately. I always have these pills on hand. My GERD is caused by my disease and medications. So there are times when I get break-out heartburn.
So when I feel that acid, I immediately chew one of the DGL licorice tablets. Although it doesn't taste good, it does give me an immediate relief. Unfortunately, even though it is a great product, I cannot use it often because it can cause a raise in blood pressure.
Like any other supplement, you need to be careful how you use it and how it affects your body. So check with your doctor or pharmacist to see if it adversly interacts with your other medication.

Welcome to your community! Many autoimmune disease sufferes have GERD as part of the package. I'd not heard of these but I'm going to give them a try. Surely, they are much less harmful than protein pump inhibitors.
Thanks Lexxia and thanks froggy... I have to use a protein pump inhibitor too. :-) It's because of that pesky prednisone and other meds that I take daily. :-)
DarthLindy... Well I am still on a lot of other pills. But this stuff is really good at getting the "afterburner." :-)
I have acid reflux, maybe this can help..
Huh, I've never heard of this. Thanks for the info.
Huh, I'll have to try some of this. I get pretty bad heartburn and stuff because of my acid reflex whatever! Hahahaha. Every now and then I get really horrid heartburn and stuff, and my doctor just tells me to take over the counter pills that are slow acting and stuff. Hah, I know I'd put this by my rice if I did get it, since I always get bad heartburn when I eat rice with a lot of salt in it.
I just got put on meds for acid reflux, but they're hoping to keep it temporary. I'll have to keep this stuff in mind! Thanks!!
