The bag has an easy caring handle on it and a nice ready to tear opening at the top corner which makes it a cinch to refill your softener. The pellets themselves are little pillow shaped briquettes of sodium chloride. look for the large brigh yellow bag in your local hardware store and you won't be disappointed.
