First, let me tell you that I am one of the biggest Digimon fans on the planet. I fell in love with the virtual pets when they first came out, and I loved the series and movies. Unfortunately, the games that Bandai has released have been a mixed bag of crap and diamonds in the rough.

I wanted to like Digimon World 3, I swear. Other people liked it, so I thought that I could force myself to like it...but I couldn't.

To be honest, I had to FORCE myself through the game.

Okay, okay, I did like a few things about the games. The amount of available Digimon was absolutely great! It spanned all four series of Digimon and it had a very nice variety. The graphics were also top notch, and the 2D world view looked really, really nice on the 3D backgrounds. The in-game graphics were crisp and really retro, and that really works for this game.

Unfortunately, that's where the praise ends.

The in-battle graphics are complete crap. Horrible polygons upon bland, boring backgrounds. The music is also extremely unmemorable and boring. However, my biggest complaint comes in the leveling up. I spent over 40 hours of the game SIMPLY leveling up. Trust me, if you're not leveled up, you're going to die in this game, a lot. All in all, I just don't think that the end justified the means. The game mechanics are screwy, and there's no sense of constancy.

I wanted to like this game, but I couldn't. Should I feel so bad about that? Just so you don't have to live through this agony, please THINK before buying the game...you'll thank me.

The lack of a plot and repetitive boring gameplay which was really just traveling back and forth across the same places and leveling up really made this game boring.
