Reviewing: Tawra Jean Kellam And Jill Cooper Dining On A Dime Cook Book: 1000 Money Saving Recipes And Tips
Purchased at: Amazon     Price: $19.95 USD

This was the first book I bought that started making me think about living a more frugal lifestyle. It is essentially a cookbook but there is so much more to it than just recipes. But recipes are a good place to start the review.

There are eight sections for food recipes which include beverages, breakfast, breads, soups and sandwiches, vegetable/ beans/ rice/ pasta, salads/ dressings/ pickles/ dips, meats/ main dishes, cakes/ pies/ candy/ cookies/ desserts. Then there are miscellaneous recipes.Recipes for mixes, kids stuff, and cleaning recipes. Some of my favorites are the soup mixes from scratch. It may sound silly but before this book I had no idea you could make a cream soup (like cream of mushroom soup) from scratch.I mean I guess I knew it could be done but I'd never realized it could be done easily and more cost efficiently.I use cream of mushroom soup in a lot of my easy recipes and thought it was great that I could make it on my own!

In addition to all of the recipes there are also tips on cleaning, homemade beauty products like bath bombs and body scrubs, and great things to do for or with the kids like making playdough and bubbles.

There is so much information packed into this book!I find myself going back to it again and again for gift ideas, ways to pamper myself, and of course the recipes!
