My husband installs Directv and Dish satelites. We opt'ed to go with Directv because we felt they were better. I feel considering my dear husband installs these on a day to day basis that we had a better end of the deal, because we knew about both companies. We have never had a problem with Directv. Their customer service has always been wonderful, when we've needed them in the past. We have a wide range of channel selections and we're able to watch tv while we record another channel. I love this feature the most because I never miss my favorite shows. I really feel their satelites are the best. Even during storms we've never lost our broadcasting. I have to say this is so easy a child could do it. I mean this literally. My 8 year old brother and sister can work the system with ease.

I also have Direc TV. I do like them but unlike you I have had some trouble with them and have lost my signal often during bad weather but not nearly as much in the last 2 years as we had with another dish prior. My son actually starts to freak out when the weather man calls for rain for fear he will loose the TV. Other than that, I too love their selection of channels and my 6 year old also can operate the remote well.
Thanks for the info, unfortunately I didn't have much luck with Direct TV. My signal kept going out all the time. I know have Dish and have never had that problem! Glad it worked for you.
I had Direc Tv for a long timeI initially got it for the NFL ticket and loved it. The only reason i switched was because my boyfriend works for the local cable compnay and we got it for free. i can't seem to pass up free : (

glad it is working out for you. When we had it we always lost signals in the rain or/and snow storms.
