OK I got fed up with cable so I went to the dish. Bad mistake. I think I only had the dish for about 2 months before I dished the dish. I am not sure if its just Direct TV or if they are all a like but I spent more time on the phone because I couldn't get a signal than I did watching TV. The quality was poor and the service wasn't much better. In the 2 months that I had it they replaced the converter box 2 times. I was very disappointed with the service and the amount of channels that I recieved under their basic package. It was much less then what I had with cable. Final straw that made me go back to cable? I called because I couldn't get a signal and the service person asked if it was snowing or raining out, I said it had snowed she said oh then you need to go out and clean the dish off, that is what is probalby causing the problem. I told her come get your dish and I went back to cable!

We also switched back to cable after a brief dish tryout.

Wow...I can't believe that they were that rude. I also went back to cable, but only because my boyfriend worked for the cable company and it was free. You can't go wrong with that...lol
Wow...you had bad luck with that service. Sorry to hear about it. I find it very inconvenient to have to clean off the dish in snow storms. Who feels like climbing on their roof in bad weather.
We've been considering it since our year contract is up with Comcast. We even told them we were going to switch to satellite, hoping they'd honor another year, but they (Comcast) could care less. So we are still trying to figure out what to do.
