OK I have to admit I was wrong about this product. My family tried to talk me into getting one of these years ago and I said no. I said why would I need that? I have a VCR to record shows if I want to, this would be a waste of money. Now I say, how did I ever live with out this? I like to watch TV, always have, always will. I have my daytime talk shows, my soap, and my evening entertainment. I now watch the same shows in about 1/2 the time. It's great. I have a small child and we never got to watch a show with out multiple interuptions. Now we hit pause and it's all good. The DVR we have allows us to tape 2 shows at one time and also watch a 3rd that is already recorded. It records up to 100 hours and the remote is really easy to use and navigate. It always seems that all the shows I want to watch are on at the same time, we no longer have to choose which one to watch. We don't have to rush to get in front of the TV when a show is starting, now we arrive about 20 minutes into it and by the time we fast foward through the commercials, it still ends on time. It also comes in handy when Direct TV runs a free weekend of thier channels like HBO or Showtime. We set it to record all the movies we want to watch and then we have months of free entertainment when we want to watch it. We got a deal on it through Direct TV so that it was free after rebates and the cost is $5.99 per month. I can no longer watch TV in real time, I love it.
