Dish Network
By JOEY onThis is a pretty interesting experience. I have had directv for quite a number of years here but recently made the switch to the Dish Network because of a special deal that directv said they could not match. All I was concerned with really was being able to watch my redsox games on television when I wanted to and also be able to see them in high definition. I had just purchased a new television from Sony and having high definition is really quite awesome. There is a huge difference. I have tried switching back and forth from high definition and non high definition and the difference speaks for itself. As far as the new Dish Network system goes so far so good. I know that once the really heavy thunder storms move in this summer that the pictures on satellite television get disrupted for a short while and thats the down fall sometimes. Fortunately its only temporary. Having directv all these years taught me all about that. Also you always have to have a clear shot to the southern sky. If you don't soon you have troubles. Last year I had some trees sprout some branches into the southern direction of where the dish was pointing. Soon I started having trouble so out I went with the ladder and cut them down pretty quickly. It may sound ridiculous to do all this to you but it really is a lot cheaper than the cable companies around here. I am not sure how att uverse would be but they do not have service to this area of ct just yet. When they do i am going to check them out too. I have to say though that what I am seeing so far the picture quality is really good with dish network. Very nice. How they would be on customer service around here who knows? I did read one review where a family switched because of lousy service. I am hoping that is not the case in this area. I do like the channel that they have set up to help you learn to use your system and also to trouble shoot if problems arise. The new england sports network comes in great on it for my baseball and that was the big thing for me as I mentioned above. The price is fifty plus dollars per month which was an unmatched special from what I was seeing.
