Dish Network By Billtkatt By billtkatt on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
So having Cable TV since the beginning of time, and spending a arm-and-a-leg for the monthly fees (with two tv's and cable internet it was about $160 per month). We decided to try out Dish Network.
We checked out the packages, and found a package which has all the movie channels and the sports package (yes) for less than what we were paying for Cable. We had three TV's hooked up along with DVR (which we didn't have before).
There are so many channels I can't even tell you all of them, including local channels. The DVR feature I now can't live without, as you can record any program at any time, on any of your TV's!
Like cable, the picture can slow down, stop or lose sound for a little bit depending on the weather, etc. I would say not nearly as much as the cable did so they get points there.
So if your looking to save some money, I would go with Dish Network over Cable any day!
So after all of what i said before, just had to switch back to cable due to a very poor customer service experience.
Our entire condo unit (6 units) lost sattelite one day, and it never came back. So after calling up the "customer service" department. They stated for around $100.00 they would send someone out to just look at it. This was just to come out and see what the problem was.
After some arguing, they agreed to come out for free, but it would take 2 weeks. We already didn't have TV for just over a week.
So we went back to cable, paid a little bit more, but are happy with the customer service unlike Dish Network.

Our cable company was bought out by Sudden Link, which is the WORST cable company I've ever had the displeasure of using (and I've had cable through over 5 different companies over the course of my life). So, we are shopping around; I will be sure to check out Dish.
If only they would adopt Tivo as its DVR
