Disney 2-way FRS Radio

I purchased these on a whim in Target.My idea for purchasing these radios was that when my family when to the mall we could keep in contact.The radios are really cute they are quite big and do not fit into a pocket but they can go in a medium size purse.It states up to a 2 mile range but that is questionalbe.The little radios do require battery changes quite often.They also require 4 AAA alkaline batteries which can become quite expensive.My children are amused though by the different character sounds and the animated character display.I think using the phone can be quite challenge and difficult.The user guide says ages 3 and up but I doubt very seriously that a child under the age of 10 could operate or use this little radio.I find myself asking my teenage to help me and I am a grown adult still learning though.I think this is a cute gadget but nothing that I would recommend to anyone.I would categorize it more as a toy.
