Disney Cruise Line By Ferret By ferret on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
If you love pirates like I do, you will have fun on a Disney Cruise. If you are in your late teens or early twenties, you might not enjoy it as much as younger kids or older adults, unless you are a huge Disney fan.
I have been on three Disney Cruises. When I was thirteen, I felt like I was a little too young for the teen club. When I was sixteen I went on another Disney Cruise. This time, I felt too old for the teen club. I have come to the conclusion that the teen club is best for fourteen and fifteen year olds. Of course there will always be exceptions, but that is what I found. I did meet people and had fun hanging out, we just didn't hang out in the teen club.
Our stateroom was cool. It had a verandah. It was so awesome to order food the night before and go out on the verandah to eat breakfast in the morning. I loved being able to just look out the window and see the water.
The food was pretty good. I am a vegetarian and found lots of great choices that were yummy too! They had buffets for breakfast and lunch. Dinner was more special. I loved dressing up for it. We would rotate between three different restaurants so it never got boring. We would eat with the same families every night which was weird at first until we got to know them. They also had a dessert night and best of all, a pirate night party. We planned ahead and dressed as pirates. All the waiters were also dressed as pirates.
There was always something to do on the ship. The cast members that work on the ship make things fun, even Bingo, which can be pretty boring.
The excursions were awesome. We went swimming with stingrays, went for a catamaran ride, and ended our cruise with a trip to Castaway Cay, which is Disney's private island. There, I parasailed and went on the banana boat ride. So much fun!
I would like to go on another Disney cruise some time, but I guess it has gotten too expensive, so I don't think we will be going again. Too bad.
Disney Cruise Line Western Caribbean

My wife has been hinting around about taking a cruise on the Disney cruise line. Sounds like you had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't done a Disney cruise but eventually I will.
This sounds like a great family cruise vacation. There would be something on board for each age.
I would really like to go on a Disney cruise one day. I am glad you mention vegetarian dining. I, too am a vegetarian but I found Disney, at least at their park, really has a lot to offer for vegetarian. Glad to hear it is the same on the cruises
