Disney Fairies Backpack By cafn8me on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

At the beginning of this school year, our search for a new backpack lead us to The Disney Store, where we happened upon this brightly colored Disney Fairies backpack that my daughter LOVED! Its primary color is a deep purple, my daughter's favorite! Since I tend to steer my kids toward dark-colored backpacks (read: dirt-hiders!), this backpack was right up my alley! There are three sections to this pack: the main compartment, where my daughter keeps her books, folders and art projects, a second zip compartment that is the entire height and width of the pack, but a bit narrower, and a small rectangular zip compartment that is meant to house pencils and such. The front panel of the backpack features Tinkerbell and two of her friends. The pencil case section is decorated with silver-toned butterflies on a floral background.

The lunchbox features the same graphic of Tink and her friends, but obviously on a smaller scale. The lunchbox clips easily to the front of the backpack, which means the child can carry both at once, without the lunchbox eating up room inside the pack.

The backpack was big enough to accommodate library books, homework folders and various and sundry school supplies that my daughter would be schlepping back and forth on the bus, but it wasn't so big that it would be a back-breaker. The $24.99 price tag was reasonable, and there was a coordinating, soft-sided lunchbox available for $9.99, so we bought the two items.

As we near the end of the school year, I have to say that both the backpack and lunchbox have held up amazingly well! The colors are bright enough to be attractive and fun for my first-grader, but have masked the abuse that she's heaped on both pieces. She may even be able to use this backpack and lunchbox for second grade!

Yay, I get to be the 1st! I know how dirty my daughters bp can get & dark colors are definitely the way to go. Good to see that it lasts so long.

Oh I would have LOVED a backpack like this when I was a kid! But we never heard of a backpack back then, unless you were... well... backpacking! :-)
