Disney's All Star Sports Resort...Save Your Money! By jchick on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
First, let me say that dispite terrible accomodations during our last Disney vacation, we still managed to have a good time. That said, I would not stay at a Disney Value Resort again if my experience at Disney's All Star Sports Resort is any indication of how they are managed. It was not the Disney quality that I am accustomed to...I've stayed at Moderate places, nothing fancy, Carribean Beach Resort, Fort Wilderness...and had wonderful experiences.
Upon check in, we were told that the Non-smoking room we had requested was not available. We would have to move from one room to another after one night. No other option was offered, even after we asked to move to another resort. Our first room was dirty, we had to call housekeeping to come and clean it up. The room was so basic...just your run of the mill Comfort Inn type place...definitely not "Disney quality". There was no "Disney magic" at this resort...it was very, very basic.
My children were 8 and 2.5 when we went, so we were in the room more than I would have liked (nap times). I wish we had spent the extra money and went for a moderate resort or either stayed off site (gasp!).
I would recommend this resort for young couples (no kids), youth groups, or college kids. That's about it. We're going in January and staying at Fort Wilderness...I can't wait!
Oh, I've been to Disney (as an adult) four times, as a child I thik I went about 10 times. I'm a big researcher...I hate that this one got by me when I was doing my research for that trip!
Disney All Star Sports Resort Moderate Resort

I hate that you had a bad experience at this resort. My husband & I stayed at another of the value resorts last time we went to Disney & while it was not the Hilton, it was nice enough for the great price. Also, if you are there for the parks and the other stuff, you are not in your room too much anyway. Hope your next trip is better though.
