Disney's Pop Century Resort
By ally10169 onWe stayed at Disney's Pop Century Resort in December of 2006. The theming of this hotel is a sort of tour through the decades between 1950 and 1990. So in the 1950s area you have that type of music, larger than life icons, and decor. If you know Disney you know they theme things up like no one else. We were in the 70's section and enjoyed it a lot. Outside our building was an enormous Mickey Mouse telephone. It is this creativity that makes this a very enjoyable resort to walk around and look at.
The rooms were clean and had a bathroom area with the sink seperated from the toilet and tub/shower area. This made it nice for getting ready in the morning. Someone could be brushing teeth while someone else showered. We found "Mousekeeping" to be quite efficient all week long.
There are multiple pools here as well as a small splash pad for the younger children. There is a poolside bar at the Main Pool and a place where hair beading was offered for a fee as well. In the main building you find Everything Pop, a fabulous Disney gift shop. You could buy shirts, candy, hats, toys, pins and much more there. It opened up in to the Food Court. This was a great Food Court with different stations. You would go through, gather what you wanted and head to a register to check out. You could have everything from pizza to shrimp lo mein to burgers to turkey and more. It was a truly wide variety and we were happy with the things we ordered here. Also in the main building was an arcade that my kids enjoyed. You win tickets on the games and can trade them in for prizes.
Disney Bus Transportation was a concern of mine but I was quite pleased with the service. In front of the resort are stations for each park and ropes to queue up in. We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and found the transportion quick and efficient. What is nice is Pop Century does not share buses with another resort so once you are picked up it is straight to the park.
I would definately recommend Disney's Pop Century Resort if you are looking for an affordable way to stay onsite at Walt Disney World and experience the magic 24/7.
