Before I moved down here to Florida my family and I would always make trips down to Disney World from Michigan and stay at their "on property" hotels. One of their newer hotels, that we have stayed at quite a few times, is "Pop Century." Also since I have moved down to Florida, I have stayed the night here when I have wanted to "get away."

Pop Century is one of Disney's value resorts. Nights range here from $69 (for Florida resident rate or Annual Passholder rate) to $129 (peak rate). To me this doesn't even seem like a value hotel, it's that spectacular! This resort is based on the decades and each building has a theme ranging from the 50's, all the way up to the 90's. Also each room is decorated according to which decade building it is in. The rooms are a good size, the beds comfortable, and the sheets soft; what more could you ask for?

This resort also has a great food court as well. There are about five different "sections" where you can get anything from a chicken ceasar salad (the best in my opinion!) to a cheeseburger, to chicken fingers, to pizza. Also what's neat is you can purchase a mug for $11.99 that you can use to get your drinks. This mug can be used over and over again for your entire stay and you only pay that initial cost. My family and I have brought our mugs back on later trips and have had no problem using them again even though that technically is not what you're supposed to do. But hey, if they're not going to correct us, we might as well get free drinks!

A little secret about the building you stay in. If you request a lake view room, you end up on the side of one of the buildings that faces Epcot. You have a perfect view of the Epcot ball, and therefore a great spot to watch the fireworks at night! I usually always request this when I check in and have had no problems getting it each time.

Check-in is at 3pm, however they usually always have the rooms ready beforehand and you can generally check in around 11 or 12 and get the keys to your room.

Pop Century is one of my favorite Disney resorts and definitely one I will keep staying at each time I go. It's a great way to save a little bit of money by staying in a value resort, but with this place you can hardly even tell it's that type of resort. If you haven't stayed here yet, you definitely should look into it for your next trip to Walt Disney World. I can assure you you will be pleasantly surprised!
