Dixie Stampede- Dinner Show, Branson
By kristyh onLast Thanksgiving we went to Branson, Missouri. We had never been to the Dixie Stampede Dinner Show and we thought we would give it a try. It was mediocre at best. This is like a hillbilly version of Medieval Times (which I LOVED). First it is ridiculously expensive- approx $50 a person. As the main event it was the North Pole Elves vs. South Pole Elves. Lame. The food was dry and bland. They did have neat horses to look at and some of the horse riding tricks during the show was pretty cool. The best part of the Dixie Stampede for me was the pre-show. There was this man who was a juggler/comedian. His dad was the man that did the plate spinning on the Late Show with Johnny Carson. During the pre-show we bought $3 drinks that come in a plastic bootshaped cup you get to take home as a souvenir. It just seemed to me that the whole atmosphere at the main show was toned down and not as lively as it was when we went to Medieval Times. Maybe we just went to a bad show. Personally I just don't think we will be spending the money to go see this show again.

That's a shame. The stuff at Dollywood is so much fun I would have expected a better result in Branson.
I live near Branson and that's one show I have never seen, nor do I care to. I've heard it's not that good and it's pricey. Sorry you were disappointed.
