Reviewing: Dkny Glasses Dy 5555
Purchased at: Lens Crafters     Price: $145.00 USD

I bought these DKNY glasses (ID# DY5555) in color, Gunmetal (#1003) from LensCrafters this year. While shopping, I found that I was most drawn to bold looks. Think: wild colors (red, pink, plum, opalescent yellow, etc.), innovative textures, unique frames and arms.

Out of the many frames I plopped on my face, I ended up choosing these frames because they were not a color that would clash with any of my clothing, and I loved the openings by the lenses.

These frames are made from stainless steel and plastic.

They are a medium to light weight, not super light. I can feel them on the bridge on my nose and on the top of my ears. I find after wearing these for a medium to long amount of time, the glasses hurt the back of the bottom of my ears. The parts that seem to make my ears sore are the ends of the arms. They tend to dig in to the skin back there which is not a good feeling.

I think these look good on "oval faces." I have that type of face shape and they suit me well. It's interesting that the wrap-around, squarish frames would complement a face shape like that, but it somehow makes my face look less oval. I am not sure how they would look on other face shapes, but because they are good looking frames, I could only imagine they would look decent, if not, great.

Your frames are great. Its so hard to choose frames, I think. There are so many choices these days. You did a great job!

Thank you! It was so hard to choose. I was at the store for so long trying on pairs.

Frames, my worst enemy - I found a place here that had a "stylist" of sorts on staff, she was excellent and seemed to have a knack for telling clients what looked great on them - an important factor if you have to wear glasses ;) These look super - looks like you picked out a great looking pair! Thanks for the info on these.

Ah, I know what you mean. There was a salesman who was sort of stylist-ish :) He helped me out. Even still, I spent forever there haha. With frames, it is hard because you are making a "commitment."

my glasses used to hurt me like that take them back and tell them whats going on they should be able to adjust that for you

Good idea. I should do that. They do get pretty uncomfortable and that seems like an easy enough fix. Thanks, pwnyprincess.
