Do Fans Pull Your Chain? By April on - Updated Sep 18, 2011

We have an attic fan that needed a new pull chain. So off to Wal-Mart to find something cheap that would look decent hanging from the ceiling. What I found was Fan Impressions pull chain, at a very reasonable price, so I bought two, just in case. It turns out that I needed both fan pull chains. The first time I used pull chain number one, it broke. I thought that maybe I was pulling too hard on it, so I quickly assembled the second one to my attic fan. I pulled down on that chain, and wa-la! The attic fan was sucking in hot air from my house. I turned it off, waiting for the night I would need to use it. A few nights later, when it was one of the hottest nights of the summer, I pulled on the chain. It broke off in my hand. Since it had worked before, I knew I was not pulling too hard. The break had actually occurred in the middle of the beaded chain, which is a sign of poor quality. I had my receipt and package, so I returned the pull chain to Wal-Mart for a full refund. If you are ever in need of a fan pull chain, do not buy from this manufacturer. They make a cheap product that does not work. Spend the extra dollar or two and buy something that has a better quality.
