By mizunderstood onI started smoking when I was fifteen years old.When I started smoking the reason was I wanted to be "cool" and fit in with my friends.Well, thirteen years later it wasn't cool; it was a habit.I spoke with my family doctor about my desire to quit.He recommended Chantix.My doctor said he had never seen any other stop-smoking aid be as effective as Chantix.I gave it a try, and what do you know; I'm a non-smoker.I took Chantix for 13 weeks total.The medicine takes about one week to build up in your body.After the first week of taking Chantix you are ready to quit.Of course the urge to light up is still there, but with Chantix the ablility to say "No" is also there and can win out if you let it.The only down side to this drug that I had was strange dreams.They reminded me of the type dreams I had when I was pregnant with both of my children.Other than that, I had no other problems.I really recommend this to anyone that is ready to quit.You can do it and Chantix can help!
I've known a number of people who had strange or really vivid dreams while taking Chantix. However, for all of them who were truly ready to quit, it worked wonders.
I have seen so many ads for this on TV, it is good to hear how it worked for a real person. I suppose there are side effects of any potent drugs, and it looks like this may trigger dreams to hallucinations in some people. But if the effects aren't too bad, what a wonderful end result... to get all that yuck out of your lungs! Way to go!
I know a couple people who have went on this drug and it worked! Even with those people who have been smoking for 20 or 30 years. The key is to be really ready to quit. I also heard about those vivid dreams!

I tried this myself but it made me very nauseous. I only lasted two weeks and I couldn't stand feeling sick all the time. I heard so many good things about it. The sucess rate is extremely high. I just wish it would have worked for me.

my father in law used this and it REALLY helped when he quit smoking! it helped him maintain a calm...things can get pretty...hostile and emotional when you are quiting!
I will recommend Chantix to my smoker friends and hopefully they too will quit smoking.
My husband has this and has tried several times, it works great, but he has no self control once he has stopped using it.
