Does An Art Kit Make The Artist? By April on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

My first grade daughter is a budding artist. The top wish on her Christmas list was an art easel and art kit to draw and paint with. So I went to work, trying to find the best bargain I could. What I found was Loew Cornell's 80 piece art kit, which offers an abundance of options. It comes with 20 crayons, 16 markers, 12 watercolor cakes, 14 mini colored pencils, 12 oil pastels, 1 glue tube, 1 drawing pencil, 1 pencil sharpener, 1 palette and 1 paintbrush all within a storage case. All pieces are non-toxic, so it won't worry me in this day of recalls. When she opened her art kit up on Christmas morning, she was so excited to start drawing. The colors are vibrant, the pencils sharpen easily and the paints do a remarkable job for the price. The only complaing I have is the markers seem to dry splotchy on paper, but for the price I cannot complain. She has used each of the items, and is constantly opening and shutting the plastic case, which conveniently snaps shut. For my buck, I believe I got a great deal for a small artist!
