Dollar Store Toy Safety Darts - Save the Dollar
By Joan Young onThis looks like a really inexpensive way to provide some safe fun for the kids, but it is completely worthless.Dont even waste the dollar.
Before I purchased the good dart set that we have now I thought that I would provide just a few hours of fun on Christmas day by putting this very cheap dart set in my (grown-up) guys stocking. We play together only over this brief holiday time, so I figured a dollar was well-spent for a bit of fun.
Was I ever wrong! The dart board is about 8 inches in diameter and consists of semi-soft molded pegs that protrude from the background. The darts are plastic with a metal band. They have a blunt tip. This all looks very safe and very simple and straightforward to use.
The problem is that the darts will almost never stick in the dart board when they are thrown at it.To get them to stick occasionally they have to be thrown with great force. Even a blunt plastic dart when thrown that hard could be dangerous, thus negating the whole idea of the safety feature to begin with.
This product would do nothing but frustrate children who would try to play the game.
Theres not much else to say about this. Its a waste of a dollar. If you want safe darts, get the velcro ball kind!

We purchased one like this when our children were younger and found the same problem - the idea is decent but the practicality of it fall shorts. Thanks for the info on this product.
