Don't Break the Ice

Reviewing: Hasbro Don't Break The Ice
Purchased at: Walmart     Price: $6.00 USD

This is my son's current favorite game.Don't Break the Ice is a game that contains a square frame, and "ice cubes" that are plastic blocks that fit into place. There is a red figure that sits on one of the ice cubes, and each player takes turns using a plastic mallet to knock down one of the ice cubes. The person who knocks down the red figure loses the game.

I think the reason that my son likes this game is because he gets to use a mallet and hit things- and doesn't get in trouble for it!I like playing the game too- I feel that it is teaching him strategy, as he starts to learn which blocks will be more unstable as the game progresses.I like the fact that the game is different every time you play it, because it keeps my son from getting bored.

One thing I don't like is setting up the ice cubes every time you play. The blocks stay in the frame by tension from the sides, so it is a tight squeeze to put the blocks in, which is kind of a pain.So far the quality has held up well, though, so I am happy with this product.

I love the kind of games where kids learn stuff and don't even realize it!

This is such a fun kiddo game! I haven't played in years (my baby is now 15, lol) but I remember the fun little hammer and plastic ice blocks just like it was yesterday!
