Don't Get A High Chair By JennEm on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

When my daughter was born, I had already had lots of experience with high chairs from the cheap ones to the high-end ones. They all have a few things in common. They take up a lot of space. Unless they are the basic wooden ones, they are hard to clean. They usually do not allow the child to eat at the table.

I decided not to buy a high chair for my daughter. Instead I bought the Fisher Price Space Saver. It's basically a high chair seat that you attach to your regular chairs. This isn't one of the little travel styles. It's large and comfortable, and it has some sturdy weight to it. It's vinyl so it's easy to wipe down, but it still has the wrinkles where food gets trapped. The tray is dishwasher safe, which is fabulous. I was thinking they should offer an extra tray so one could be used while the other is being washed. Actually I bet I could find one if I looked.

When you take the tray off, this seat can slide right up to the table. I like that.

My daughter has used this seat since she was four months old. She's a toddler now, and we still love it.
