My family has been fans of L.L. Bean's high-quality merchandise for quite a while, so when I saw these jeans in the L.L. Bean catalog, I new that they would be an instant hit with my 9 year old son. The catalog's description noted the stain-resistant cotton denim, the reinforced seams, and the relaxed, broken in feel achieved by the garment wash finish of these jeans. I took particular note of the adjustable waist band (perfect for my son, who is a long-legged beanpole),and of course, the cotton-flannel lining as a lightweight way to add warmth and comfort for the wearer. I knew these jeans would keep my son warm on the playground during recess without making him swelter once he got back in the classroom.
At $29.50, these jeans may be a tiny bit more than one usually spends on kids' jeans, but these are worth EVERY penny! They have held up after several months of my son wearing them at least twice a week. The denim has shown no thinning or fraying, and the flannel lining is still as soft and pill-free as the day we bought them.
