Dr Dre monster beats are the market leaders when it comes to designer headphones and many other celebrities have followed suit in joining Dr Dre or by creating their own products. Here I look at what at all the hype is about and whether it is really worth it.
The sound quality of Dr Dre monster beats is amazing they intensify the beat of the music hence the name making some songs really come alive and almost revamp the entire song. However with some songs this doesn't work and they spoil the song by making them very scratchy and giving them very poor sound quality. So for sound quality it is a very mixed bag.
For noise cancellation which is a key feature for all headphones the Monster beats are formidable they cancel out nearly all sound leaving a crystal clear sound of the music in your ear. However sometimes some sound can get through and can be extremely frustrating.
As for looks the Monster beats can not be beaten. They are sleek stylish and definitely stand out from the crowd. They are instantly recognisable and a really cool and modern design so you can clearly tell these are designer and expensive For comfort also Monster beats is leagues above the rest with very soft padding the ear cups are divine and are really comfortable. They are also adjustable but come in one size fits all so may still be a bit big or small but their are other models which are made for people who are slightly smaller.
Now for th price, the Monster beats come in at a monstrous 280! This, though the product is unique and designer is one of the most ridiculous price tags I have seen in my life and in my view really spoils the product.
The headphones also run on 3 AAA batteries meaning that if the batteries run out you can't use them and you have to keep replacing them unlike most other headphones which work unaided. The power is used to increase the base but really it shouldn't require batteries which is a bit of a let down.
In conclusion the Monster beats are clearly supreme headphones offering excellent sound quality and a unique design but the pricing is a major flaw from Dr Dre Beats as most people are not willing to pay 280 for a pair of headphones and they have lost out on a lot of potential sales there.
