Draftbusters does a good job keeping us warm

Draftbusters Window Insulator Kit is one of those products that is a plastic film you put around the inside of your windows to reduce the airflow from leaks around the window.Although it is a bit tricky to install the product works very well.

We used this kit for the window in our nursery.The window is older and doesn't close properly.During the winter you can actually feel the cold air blowing into the room.Since we could not afford to replace a window I purchased the Draftbusters Kit.

The procedure for installation sounds simple.You used the provided double-sided tape around the outside of the window frame.The plastic film is placed over the window and held in place with the tape.Using a blow dryer you apply heat to the plastic film so that it shrinks to a taunt fit and then trim away the excess film at the edges.

We did have some problems in getting the tape into place correctly and in getting the plastic attached firmly to the tape.Also, we trimmed the edges too close and the plastic popped loose from the tape.This allowed air to blow in where the film was not secured.

Once we got the product in place correctly we could immediately feel the difference.Wind was no longer blowing into the room.In the past the room was cold no matter how high we had the heat.With the Draftbusters Kit in place we cannot feel the cold air at all and the room stays nice and warm.

The energy savings makes the cost of the kit quite worthwhile and the added warmth is wonderful.
