These Chinese bottle covers turn the most mundane bottle of wine into a unique and festive hostess gift. If you prefer, they could also be used to wrap a bottle of Olive Oil, Vinegar, or even Sriracha Sauce.

The one shown here is a Cheongsam pattern, but they come in a variety of colors and patterns and from the deviations between similar ones they truly do seem to be hand made.

I have bought them in gift shops in Southeast Asia, Asian Markets in the United States, and seen them on Ebay and other places on the web (search for 'Chinese Silk Wine Bottle Covers').

In addition to using them as give wrap, these bottle covers can be used to create unique decorations. See the accompanying photo where I use one to cover a carafe holding a stalk of Chinese Bamboo with tassle and lucky coins.

To see more examples of wine bottle covers, see: www.winebottlecovers.net - they don't seem to sell them, but they include a number of interesting examples.

I like to keep some of these covers on hand because they don't take up much space and you never know when you might need one.
