Driveway Security - Know When Someone's There!

Our family room is situated at the back of our house.This is where we are when we are home 24/7.It is impossible for us to know when someone has pulled up in our driveway or comes up the walk to the front door.
We pulled the plug on our doorbell as it would drive the dog nuts when we were home, more so when we were not.
We really were not in the market for an expensive security system but just wanted something that would let us know if we had visitors (wanted or unwanted).I found this great, very inexpensive motion activated driveway alarm on QVC.
For under $30.00 we now know when someone is at the front of the house.It was very easy to install and we positioned it right in front of the first post of a picket fence that lines the front walk.There is a plant that keeps it out of sight of anyone passing by. We have it turned toward the driveway so if someone pulls up or comes up to our walkway it sets of a beep or light sensor in the house.Having it installed here and turned to the driveway keeps the sensor from going off at any traffic that passes by on the street.
This motion alarm works with a 12V battery which is included, it's wireless and is working for us 24/7.We are thinking of getting another unit to put by our entrance to the back yard.The sensor could pick up animals in the yard but so far we haven't had a problem.
I'm sure this is not the greatest or the best security product out there but it works for us and we are happy to know we didn't miss a friend stopping over to visit when we are home.
I have seen these on TV and in catalogs. Glad to know they actually work.
This is a good buy that makes a whole lot of sense. We have a 60 foot driveway and if we are in the back of the house or yard, we have to keep the gates shut, because we cannot hear anyone coming. Something like this-simple and easy to install would work perfectly.
Our doorbell is broken and this sounds like a perfect solution, thanks for making us aware of this product.
I have this same system install a my house for about 5 years now and it's great! It covers half of the backyard and the front door. I wouldn't want to live without it now.
Are people that scared of being robbed? Although i don't think things are that bad anywhere. they're a good idea, especially when your coming home and can't see the key hole. cheers

Despite the street lights, our neighborhood can be pitch black dark after midnight so we need this.
I like stuff like this. This is a nutty world where some think its ok to harm others so anything like this that helps is a very good item. Nice review. Good job.
