Driveway Walkway Alarm System By godfrey884 on - Updated Oct 15, 2011
Want to know if someone is coming to your door before they ring the bell or knock, want to know if you have unexpected visitors before they even get out of there car?
This is the thing to have then, the Driveway patrol is a wireless infrared security system that lets you know when someone is approaching your house or driveway and most people don't even notice it. It is very easy to install, no complicated wires to run, no codes to have to mess around with. Just place the sensor outside (it is weather resistant) Place the receiver in your house (this part is portable and can go from room to room with you), and if someone walks up you walkway or comes into your driveway a pleasant little chime with go off to notify you. It can even be turned off if you don't want to be notified. The unit has a 400 foot range. And run off of 1- 9v and 3-C batteries.
This system came in really handy when our doorbell stopped working, till my husband fixed it. If I was upstairs or in the basement I couldn't hear if someone was knocking on my door. And there were times I'm sure that some people like the postman may not have even knocked but just tried the doorbell. With the driveway patrol I knew as soon as someone opened my front gate. And our other one we use for our driveway.
Where we have ours located we haven't had many false chimes as we have ours installed about waist height so it prevents cats or other animals for setting it off.

I am looking for an alarm like this thanks for the information.
sounds like something I would love to have!
My uncle had one of these and I thought it was great! It really helps to let you know when you have visitors approaching, both wanted and unwanted! :o)
This looks so elaborate for costing only $15.00!! I love reading about the bargains all of you write about!! What a great alarm system!
How handy would this be? I like this idea.
Nice invention there, it will be so convenient and a real good safety device there especially for homes with long drive way.
My aunt who is a bit elderly (although she would deny it) has one of these at her house. Her doorbell does not work either, so it was great to find such an inexpensive product that she could use. Also, it's louder than her doorbell used to be.
I have a friend that has one of these alarms. It is always a plus to know when a unexpected guest has just pulled in!
That's good the alarm isn't set off by small animals. We have a ton of them around our neighborhood, including BobCats.
