Dune By Frank Herbert By freesoma on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Dune, written by Frank Herbert, is an epic science fiction novel that is perhaps the most popular and important sci-fi book ever written. The story contains an incredibly well-thought out universe with very interesting and unique characters, great dialogue, excellent descriptions, and one of the best stories ever written. The plot is simply amazing.

Dune is the kind of science fiction book that everyone should have the chance to read. It is one of my favorite books because Frank Herbert expertly blends science fiction with many important subjects like philosophy, religion, war, and politics. Dune is a fairly long and slightly difficult book but the payoff is huge; the story is brilliantly written and there aren't enough words to describe how one feels when reading it.
