Dutch Boy Dura Clean Eggshell Paint By ValerieDavid on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

Dutch Boy Dura Clean eggshell is a good value paint. It has a nice thick consistency and covers well. It's not as flawless as more expensive paints, but it does a fine job.

Dutch Boy Dura Clean claims to be a one coat paint. If you're doing a light color over another light color, that may be the case. We got this paint in a dark green color and definitely needed two coats to even out the roller marks. If you're doing a dark color, I recommend buying more paint than you think you need. You'll go through it fast.

It seems like a small thing, but having the paint in an easy-pour container really does make life easier. The handle and the spout help prevent spills and allow you to better control the amount you're pouring.

The eggshell paint is nice and rich, with a little bit of a sheen to it. It's durable and made with a stain-resistant finish. We used it in a basement office, so there's not a lot of light shining in to highlight any remaining roller marks. If you work with lighter colors, this paint should do a good job in any room in your house. With darker shades in a prominent room, you might want to upgrade.

Overall we've been pleased with Dutch Boy Dura Clean paint. At half the price of decorator brands, this quality paint has good value as well.
