DVD Recorder

I love to watch movies.I'm sure most people do but I have grown tired of renting movies and then having to return them or even outright buying movies. It seems like some movies just aren't worth $19.99.So I had the brilliant idea of purchasing a DVD recorder.I thought that it would be great to record movies from HBO or any other channel and burn them on to a disk.

I was really excited when I first hooked up my DVD recorder. It is initially easy to "install" it is however near impossible to program.Normally I'd walk you through a step by step process but to this day (two years after purchase) I still can't program the thing. The only way that I can get this recorder to work is if I wait for a particular movie or show to come on and then press record and stop at the appropriate times.

And as far as making recording of rented DVDs, that's not possible. Most DVDs come encrypted (which makes it impossible to record them) and with pesky copyright laws.

Sounded like a good idea though huh? LOL ...you can rent those dvd's at our local grocery store for only 99cents each. We mostly use our DVR to record mini dv tapes to disc. My hubby doesn't like it much. He loves his vcr's still. Things were much simplier in the old days :)
