Dynadisc For Balance By Olin Froid on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
The dynadisc is a simple, small piece of exercise equipment that is used in a yoga, pilates environment and also in a rehabilitation setting, which is more where my experience will come from.
The dynadisc balance disc is a small plastic disc about the size of your foot and approximately 6-7 inches in thickness. It is filled with air, and provides an unstable surface to attempt to balance on while performing exercises in a single leg position. Most often, this is a very successful and useful tool for neuromuscular rehabilitation, which focuses on improving balance and awareness.
The disc is limited in its rehab potential based on the user. Meaning, if you do not have an extensive knowledge of balance, core exercises to do than you will not really know what to do with it. But if you have a larger repertoire of exercises and perform them already, this will make the difficult single leg exercise even more challenging.
I recommend this to the person who would like to advance their exercise with more dynamic, challenging balance exercises.

Olin, all you would see would be Froggy, and the disc sliding rapidly out the door .
Sounds challenging and hard. This sounds like a good exercise for people who need help with balance. I like this for my dad.
I've seen this before at a rehab place. It looks hard and I'm sure I would have alot of trouble doing exercises on it. My core needs alot more exercising first!
I've only started to get into yoga, but the list continues as far as "what to have" in order to have the utmost affecting experience with the addition of this, and with that, thanks for sharing!
Is this like a Bosu ball? This sounds like it would be challenging yet fun-your core would really get a tremendous workout from this!
I've considered Yoga for years and never gotten around to it. If some of the same equiptment is also used for rehab though it must be safer and easier than I imagined, I guess I'll have to try it soon.
Sound like it would give you a good workout.
This sounds like an interesting piece of equipment.
I've never heard of this, thanks for sharing.
Sounds like a great piece of exercise equipment.
