Ear Thermometer By DeDee on - Updated Oct 15, 2011

I have always used the older stick mercury thermometer. I decided that I wanted to be up with the times and not have to wait to long for an accurate reading. I searched ebay for new digital thermometers. I purchased this one in the picture above. It has a one second reading, needs no prove cover, easy to read screen, 512 temperature scanning per second, battery lasts 5,000 measurments and stores and recalls last ten temperatures. Once I received it I tried to use it. It said my son had a fever but he didn't. I tried again and it said he was normal. I kept testing this and got a different reading each time. I don't think this is because it is digital. I mean I should have got an accurate reading and didn't. I think this has done it for me. I will not use a digital again. I believe the old fashion mercury stick thermometer is the best to this day. This one may be digital, small and compat with a nice little case but an accurate reading is what I want when taking my children's temperature.

That's too bad this didn't work for you-I haven't had the best luck with digital thermometers either!

I agree! I also have not had much success with the digital thermometers. Everytime you take a temperature, it says something different. What are we supposed to believe? Sorry this didn't work out for you.
