Easy Lawn Edging Border. By godfrey884 on - Updated Sep 18, 2011
Let me start by saying I have no were near a green thumb. And like most others I like to have a nice looking yard.
I am originally from Canada where I lived in an apartment building where the lawn and garden maintenance was the responsibility of the property owner.
Therefore when I moved to the USA and my husband and I bought out first house 2 yrs ago we were both kinda of clueless as to the gardening when it come to flowers and so forth.
Last year I seen on QVC they were showing this really nice lawn border/edging. So I figured it sounded easy enough. I purchased 3 rolls.
The blooming border roll is a life saver for those like me whom are clueless, it is so easy to do, it really easy no fail operation.
The blooming border comes in 20 foot lenghts by 4 inch wide. The roll already has over 1000 seeds with no weed seeds. This roll will cover 6.7 sq.ft of area. And can easily be cut to fit any area.
And now for the How To: this is just so easy all you have to do is pick where you want the border to go, loosen the soil, moisten the soil, lay out your border leaving 3-4 inches on each side, water enough to soak the mat. Water daily till you see the plants start to grow, then water it twice daily for two weeks. Then in about 4 weeks you will start to enjoy your beautiful lawn edging full of beautiful blooms, thats it! When I did this last year mine lasted well into the fall, last year we had started to get light snow and yet my flowers were still not dead yet.
The roll I have includes the following mix of flowers Calendula, Cornflower, French Marigold, Coreopsis and Sweet Alyssum, all anywhere from 8-12 inches tall. The packaging has easy to follow instructions, with a map telling when to plant for certain areas.
This is my second year using this, and if I can easily do this anyone can.
I will update photos in a few weeks to show the results.
I have just added Pictures of the lawn border/edging to show what some of the flowers look like.

I have a friend who uses something similar and it is very nice indeed!
I've purchased these from QVC and have had really good results with them. I have some flowers that are still coming up after 3 or 4 years!! Thanks for sharing.
Wow-I wondered if these really worked! Please be sure and show the pictures when they start to bloom again, and thanks for sharing this!
I had some of this a few years ago, and loved it. I totally agree with how great this product is. Very Very low maintenance to get pretty results.
This looks so easy and probably is super for tough areas to landscape and that need some colour punch. The price is just great!
