Electric Ice Cream Maker
By MaggieM onI love ice cream, I mean I really love ice cream! We tried some homemade ice cream at a friend's house and thats when I decided I had to have my own ice cream maker.I shopped all around and found a great price at Target, so I went and bought one. This has to be the best kitchen appliance I've ever had, hmmm can you tell I like it???
I got an electric ice cream maker, the 4 quart size. You can also find them in 1.5, 2 and 6 quart sizes. You can also find them that use the old style method with a crank instead of electric. It comes with everything you need, including an ice cream scooper and an instruction book with multiple recipes. Not only can you make ice cream, but you can also make frozen yogurt, sorbet and ice milk.
It is super easy to use.Just put your ingredients in the metal canister, put the lid on, add ice and rock salt to the bucket and plug it in.It will automatically shut off when your ice cream is ready. The instruction booklet gives you all kinds of tips on how to achieve different textures as well.It even includes ways to substitute ingredients for a lower fat content.
If you've never had homemade ice cream you really need to give it a try!Its fun to try and create different combinations and flavors. This is something the whole family can enjoy.I highly recommend it!

Homemade ice cream does have a different and better taste than the store bought! It has been a while since I had any though.
I love ice cream and would love to try one of these but I am worried i wouldn't have the time. how long does it take to make a batch of cream?
It only takes a minute or two to put together the ingredients, then the ice cream churns for 25-40 minutes.
I love homemeade ice cream - especially in the summer!
I've never had home made ice cream. I think I may be missing out on a good thing!!!
I need to get one of these. I work with kids. They would love to make ice cream.
