Reviewing: Kenmore 94383
Purchased at: Sears     Price: $849.00 USD

For my birthday this year, my sister & grandmother got together & purchased me a new electric range. My gas oven had finally bit the dust so I was excited to finally get a range that actually baked food in the time it was supposed to take to bake.

The range they got me was a Kenmore 30 inch electric freestanding range in black/stainless steel. It has a smooth-top cooking surface with 4 burners and a warming zone. The oven is 5.5 cu. ft. and has a self cleaning function that is great.

So far, the range works great and looks really nice & classy in my kitchen. It's so much easier cleaning a flat top since you don't have food getting spilled into your burners. The display is big and easy to read and the oven window is nice and large, so you can easily see your food inside without losing heat to open the door.

Update On Jun 09, 2008: So far, I have baked in this oven about 5 or 6 times. It said before you ever bake for the first time to turn the oven on to 400 degrees & keep it on for about 30 minutes to burn out the "new" smell.Well, even though it's baked several times now, it still has a fairly nasty smell to it.Hopefully that will go away soon.Everything else though works great!

Sounds like a pretty good buy. Wish my kinfolk were so giving.

I also love my smooth top range. Cleaning is, indeed, so much easier.
