Electric Water Heater

We moved into our new house that is run on electric instead of gas. The water heater that is here has been serviced regularly. However the water heater is useless. We always run out of hot water. We have never been able to have the whole family bathed in the same evening. Our hydro meter outside just spins like crazy when the water heater is regenerating more hot water. Our neighbours say that it's not because its electric. But because it is the brand of water heater that we have and suggest we get a different brand. I would definitely not suggest this water heater ever! This water heater also takes almost two hours to get hot water. It is crazy. My husband is stubborn, and refuses to buy a new one and wants to buy a sleeve warmer for the tank. In hopes that that will help and save him money. I really need him to read these other reviews on other brands of hot water heaters that people are happy with.
That seems like a long time to heat up more water - what is the capacity of this water heater? Maybe that's the problem?
I have Rheem and love it. It never runs out of hot water and is highly energy efficient. I wonder if it has some sort of plug in the line.
We need to purchase a water heater soon for our restaurant. The one we have is leaking and old....need something reliable. This one sounds like one I will take off the list!
