Elgin made a railroad pocket watch and this one was made in about 1919. This is a family heirloom. It is gold and sits in a clear glass case. It also has a long gold chain. It has been kept in excellent condition and you would never guess that it is now about one hundred years old. It is displayed in a safe secure place. It is working and running just fine. This is a beautiful, railroad pocket watch, which when you look at it, gives you the feeling , of being back in time. I really do not like to touch it, because I would be afraid of dropping it. It is white faced with an antique watch thob. The thob contains rare family photos.The throb is gold and beautifuly engraved. It is to be passed down throughout all the generations. It has always been protected carefully to ensure that it would never leave the family.The back of this watch is engraved and has the family initial. When I look at it, I wonder about life back in those days. I think about what this watch meant to the family member who carried it.
